Overcoming Anxiety With Hypnotherapy
Multiple disorders can cause anxiety, such as phobias, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder or body dysmorphic disorder. These disorders are not uncommon, as approximately 10 percent of individuals suffer from some type of phobia and about 16 percent from an anxiety disorder. Thankfully, overcoming anxiety is entirely possible. The idea is to permanently resolve the issue bringing about the anxiety. Hypnotherapy delves into the subconscious to retrain your brain.
Feeling anxious can be a normal part of dangerous or fearful situations but sometimes it can take on a life of its own. An anxiety disorder is frequent and intense feelings of fear, worry or apprehension. Anxiety attacks can manifest into feelings of being lost or desperate and can come on suddenly. You may experience a racing heart, chest pain, being scared or out of breath, sweaty palms or nausea. Anxiety can also bring about paranoid feelings and disrupt your daily living.
Hypnotherapy creates deep relaxation in an altered state of consciousness. This is sometimes referred to as a trance. Hypnosis uses a focused state to bring about a state of awareness. The idea is to be able to affect your own body’s involuntary functions, including psychological responses. Hypnotherapy retrains your brain to have a healthier response to the triggers that once caused you anxiety. Relaxing, recognizing the problem, responding differently to the problem, becoming aware and reflecting on the experience is a series of steps in hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is a way for overcoming anxiety by helping you feel relaxed and calmer, both physically and mentally. It focuses on your conscious and unconscious mind in order to reach comfort and ease over the things that are causing you anxiety. Trying to consciously control anxiety can be difficult and may only serve to worsen the issue; the symptoms of anxiety or panic are involuntary. By dealing with the root cause of your anxiety through your subconscious, you can heal from the problem and dissolve your symptoms.
Hypnotherapy gives you a safe environment for overcoming anxiety. During therapy, your anxiety is dealt with on an individual treatment basis. Your unconscious mind houses your memories, beliefs, learned responses and the root cause of your anxiety. By working with this part of your brain, hypnotherapy can reach and heal your anxiety. You may or may not know your triggers, therefore, using your unconscious mind can open the door to discovering what is causing you anxiety, leading to healing.
